Rugged Rider
Mattel introduced the Big Jim Rugged Rider in 1972 as one of the earliest vehicles created for the Big Jim adventure line. Reference 8886 places the vintage motorcycle firmly in the outdoor action world associated with Big Jim and Big Jack, giving the figures a compact machine designed for energetic riding scenarios and stunt play. The original Rugged Rider comprises the motorcycle body, wheels, handlebar and motor assembly. Its most distinctive feature is its functional spring suspension, which allowed the bike to handle play involving wheelies, jumps and flips. With its purposeful off-road styling and mechanical play features, this early Mattel vehicle reflects the sports-and-adventure direction that defined the first years of the Big Jim collection.
Real heroes always live great adventures.
