Big Jim Command Copter, Mattel reference 9583, was released in Europe in 1985 as part of the final Commando / Global Command era of the vintage Big Jim range. Designed as an airborne rescue and intervention craft, the white helicopter features the distinctive red-and-blue Global Command graphics seen on the original box. Its play functions include rotating rotor blades and an operational grappling-hook system, while an underside spotlight forms part of the vehicle equipment. The packaging also advertises three mission stamps included inside. Sized for Big Jim figures, the Command Copter reflects Mattel’s shift toward a more futuristic action-and-espionage universe during the last years of the collection, with a cockpit and equipment conceived for Global Command missions.
