Mattel’s Big Jim Trapper / Scout Outfit, reference 9410, was introduced in Europe in 1976 as part of the first Karl May Western assortment. Specialist Big Jim databases identify it as the “Trapper / Scout” or “Scout Outfit,” while contemporary-style listings also describe it as a Davy Crockett-inspired costume. The vintage set equips a Big Jim figure for frontier exploration with a brown trapper-style outfit, matching trousers, a fur-style cap and a long rifle, as shown in documented examples. The costume reflects the wilderness and hunting imagery associated with the Karl May universe and Old Shatterhand’s frontier adventures.
