Mattel’s Geronimo, reference 9404, was issued in the European Big Jim Old West range, with this large “BIG JIM” logo box generally documented around 1978. The specialist Big Jim archive identifies this European release with closed hands, dark complexion and white briefs, while the boxed outfit includes beige corduroy trousers, cloth shoes, a patterned headband, black tooth-style necklace and a double-barrel shotgun. Earlier or market-specific versions of reference 9404 are also documented, including a 1976 Grip Hands release and a Spanish Congost version dated 1977, so packaging style is important when dating individual examples. This vintage Mattel Big Jim figure represents the Western character Geronimo and is distinguished by its bold late-1970s graphic packaging within the Big Jim collection.
