Mattel’s Mark Strong Jungle Outfit, reference 8580, was issued in Europe in 1971 during the earliest period of the range that would become Big Jim. Designed for exploration and jungle adventures, this vintage outfit gives Mark Strong the appearance of a field adventurer equipped for expeditions in demanding terrain. The original carded set visibly includes a short-sleeved khaki safari jacket with multiple pockets, camouflage trousers and a brown belt. Its distinctive “Mark Strong – The Man from Mattel” packaging identifies it as part of Mattel’s early European collection before the Big Jim name became standard.
