4384 Sports Camper

The Big Jim Sports Camper by Mattel, reference 4384, is a large vintage recreational vehicle first marketed in the United States in 1972, then released in other markets around 1973–1974. This so-called “Series 2” version is notably identified by its raised 3D Big Jim logo. Designed to expand the character’s sporting and adventure universe, the camper opens to create a complete campsite and originally included a yellow boat with oars, folding furniture, a sleeping bag, a campfire with grill, a lantern, cooking utensils, and various outdoor accessories. Some variants feature a more colorful printed interior, sometimes associated with American editions, although this geographical attribution has not been formally confirmed. It remains a major piece for any Big Jim Mattel vintage collection.
