2174 Frontier Gear

Mattel’s Big Jim Pony Express Frontier Gear, reference 2174, was released in Europe in 1976 as part of the Karl May Western range. This vintage outfit and accessory set evokes the life of a Pony Express rider travelling across the American frontier. The original box contains Western equipment including a rifle, gun belt with two revolvers, white cowboy hat, brown boots, spurs, chaps, a bedroll or blanket and additional riding accessories. Presented in the distinctive green Karl May packaging, the set was designed to equip a Big Jim figure for horseback adventures alongside Winnetou and Old Shatterhand. Mattel reference 2174 combines clothing, weapons and travel gear in one of the most complete frontier-themed accessory sets of the 1976 Big Jim collection.
